또 한가지 매스미디어의 발달로 인한 여론조사를 통한 선거예측이 가능해짐으로서 선거의 결과가 뻔하기 때문에 부동층이 늘어나는 현상.
그러나, 이 모든것은 하나의 요인 일 뿐이다.
기본적으로는 정치에 대한 무관심이 매우 크다고 생각할 수 있다.
이번 선거에도 '역대 국회 출석률 최소인 국회의원도 당선, 성추행 사건이있는 국회의원도 당선...' 역시 이런 의원님들이 다시 당선되었다.
왜 투표를 해야하나.
투표는 국민의 의사를 반영할 수 있는 가장 좋은 방법이다.
국민 모두가 정치를 할 수 없는 상황에서 가장 좋은 방법은 대의 민주주의이고 국민의 대표를 뽑기위해서는 투표를 통하여야 한다.
다수의 투표는 가장 나은 선택을 하게 하며 잘못된 선택을 방지하는데 가장 많은 도움을 준다.

잘못된 선택 얼마나 참혹한 결과를 가져올 수 있는지 보여주는 사례를 하나 들어보면 나치를 들 수 있겠다.
선거를 통하여 나치당이 승리했고, 그리고 그 댓가는 참담했다.
잘못된 선택.
그것은 나 하나의 투표로 바꿔갈 수 있다.
결국 18대 국회가 잘되느냐 못하느냐는 국민의 책임이다.
대한민국의 약1/2의 국민은 우리나라 국회를 비난할 자격도 없다.
이 국회의원은 바로 국민이 선출했다.
이게 대한민국의 정치 수준의 현 주소다.
그리고 그 책임은 모든 국민에게 있다는 사실을 잊지 말자.

3. 다음과 같은 현상이 지속될 때 나타날 수 있는 문제점은?
지난 16대 총선 투표율이 총선거 사상 최저 수준인 57.2%를 기록하였다. 이는 15대 총선 때의 63.9%보다 6.7%나 줄어든 수치이다. 이러한 정치적 무관심은 미국이나 유럽 등의 정치 선진국에서도 나타나고 있으며, 시민 사회의 새로운 문제가 되고 있다.
① 선거가 필요 없어진다.
② 시민 운동이 지나치게 활발해진다.
③ 선거에 출마하려는 사람이 줄어든다.
④ 국민의 의사가 제대로 반영되지 않는다.
⑤ 정치에 미치는 시민의 힘이 아주 강해진다.
